These are talented subject team leaders in elementary schools who have the ability to design and implement demo classes, host talk shows and seminars to deliver CPDs on the new high school programme for their colleagues.
It is also necessary for these teachers to possess the ability to use technology and utilise the advantages of technology and supporting equipment into teaching. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) chose to host the training online from 22/04 to the end of 30/05/2020. Teachers from 63 provinces and cities will be introduced to the new high school programme to be implemented in the next school year. From then on, teachers will start designing teaching plans according to the topics of each subject/educational activity and will be instructed to implement professional activities according to the new programme. 4,500 trainees are divided into 10 regions, provinces and cities and will participate in the training in 10 different courses. Each course will be divided into classes of different subjects and teaching activities to ensure the general efficiency and quality via relevant professional training and discussions. Throughout the online training, these teachers will be provided with study accounts and are responsible to research in 5 days all the training documents as uploaded in the software for managing online studying. The system will monitor the self-studying of all trainees. Teachers need to meet all requirements to continue the interactive online training of the following days. "Despite using the online method, we can still ensure an efficient, quality and timely training. With a huge number of trainees, this method will create a favourable condition for teachers and reporters by avoiding long commutes and save organising cost. Moreover, this online training method also helps teachers quickly access and apply modern technology to renovate their teaching methods, following the innovative spirit of the high school teaching programme in 2018 and the latest international teaching trends", Tai Van Thai - Director of Elementary Education Department commented.
